  1. Fully stressed and have left teaching, after 25 years, due to chronic health, having rarely missed a day…

    Had a class of 30 with about 1/4 with statements including severe emotional /behavioural needs and one with high functioning autism but practically no social/ integration skills, plus a very bright bunch who needed ‘stretching’. Ended up I was the one who was stretched! SEN support assistant hours had been cut. The afternoons particularly were totally “challenging” (understatement)! IEPs/ statementing of limited effectiveness when there are insufficient resources to meet and deliver within the classroom…
