MLAs debate a number of coronavirus related Health Protection Regulations. These include:
- The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (Amendment No. 11) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020
- The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (Amendment No. 12) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020
- The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Wearing of Face Coverings) (Amendment No. 3) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020
These regulations were discussed in one debate which were then voted on and approved at the end of the debate. The regulations concern restrictions involving:
Amendment no. 11 amends the regulations to clarify such things as the meaning of self-catering accommodation and requires the closure of hostels and similar establishments, with certain exemptions.
Amendment no. 12 provides for physical education to take place in schools and other educational settings and provides that tables or other facilities in an area adjacent to hospitality premises are to be treated as part of the premises.
Amendment no. 3 of the ‘Wearing of Face Coverings’ Regulations extends the requirement to wear a face covering to post primary school children on school transport and on other public transport.
