Health Protection Regulations: Monday 9 November 2020

These regulations were discussed in one debate which were then voted on and approved at the end of the debate. The regulations involve restrictions involving:

Amendment no. 8 looks at restrictions on indoor gatherings, hospitality businesses, guesthouses and hotels, indoor facilities, libraries, and outdoor gatherings in the Derry and Strabane District Council area.

Amendment no. 9 introduces restrictions for a period of four weeks in relation to gatherings, sporting events, the hospitality sector, businesses, places of worship, marriages, funerals and libraries. 

Amendment no. 10 amends previous regulations to permit sports and massage therapy to be provided to elite athletes, provide that dance of any type shall be deemed to be a form of exercise or sport, and provide exemptions to restrictions for education, training, blood donation, motorcycle driving instruction, use of touring caravans in an emergency and for ferries. 

Amendment no. 2 of the ‘Wearing of Face Coverings’ Regulations extends the requirement to wear a face covering to a bus, coach, taxi, vehicle being used to train for or take a driving test, an aeroplane, an airport, a restaurant, café, bar or public house , a bank, and public areas of government buildings.
