This week the Committee visited Nautilus Centre, Kilkeel Harbour for its meeting.
The Committee received a briefing from Anglo-North Irish Fish Producers Organisation (ANIFPO) and The Northern Ireland Fish Producers’ Organisation Ltd (NIFPO) for an update on issues impacting the sector.
It also received a briefing from The Department of Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs on Fisheries Management Plans in relation to Irish Sea Pelagic, Irish Sea Demersal and NI Inshore.
The Committee also considered a Departmental writtens briefing on Inter-tidal Hand Gathering of Shellfish, the implementation of the Climate Change Act 2022, the consultation on a Review of Marine Licensing Fees, and the UK Policy Framework on Management of Radioactive Substances and Nuclear Decommissioning.
