MLAs John Stewart and Steve Aiken propose a motion that the Assembly acknowledges the significant impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the local economy and recognises that thousands of sole traders and micro-businesses in Northern Ireland have not been able to access financial support, calling on the Minister for the Economy to establish a new fit for purpose business hardship fund targeted at those businesses that have so far been excluded from existing support packages.
