Tourists feel cheated if they have to pay a tourist or hotel tax. The hotels pay tax on their profits and pay rates to support local and national government to provide services including promoting tourism. Don’t strangle our only golden goose for a slice of the parsons nose.
Our direct competitors in ROI have an unfair VAT advantage. Sort it out and make us more competitive.
CONCERNED & DISMAYED
Concerned that Economy Comittee needs more research on cutting Hospitality VAT and dismayed at the suggestion of a Visitor (hotel) Tax! We already have the 2nd highest Hospitality VAT in Europe and the highest rates in the UK.
